Hauppauge Colossus2 & NDS HD-PVR2 Gaming Jumbling

Hello!

First time post here. I am having some trouble with my tuner cards "jumbling" whenever I restart my machine. I am trying to record 6 different stations, on seperate cards but when I reboot my machine the tuner cards do not keep their order. 

This means that when I set-up a full day of recordings on CNN (Tuner #1), for example, when I reboot my computer Tuner 1 may not be Tuner 1 anymore, it could be Tuner 3 or 4 depending on how quickly the slotted cards boot on my machine. When this happens, I will get full length files of "CNN" because that is the station connected to "Tuner 1" but now I am seeing the source as CNBC because that Tuner Card booted faster upon restart that the actual Tuner 1. I have tried Colossus and HD-PVR2 and this is a CONSTANT problem. Is there a way to avoid this? I am on Version 4.2.5(191014). Thanks!

The is definitely not anything we can do with v4 these days.

Honestly though, I'm not sure I can tell them apart, so I'm kind of dependent on the order staying the same (if they need different blasters etc). Colossus2 and HDPVR2 are effectively the same device (even though one is on a USB device, and the other PCIe), and they use same driver name, so hard to tell them apart.

How many of these devices do you have?

Honestly though, I'm not sure I can tell them apart, so I'm kind of dependent on the order staying the same (if they need different blasters etc). I am running 5 Colossus 2 cards and 1 HD-PVR2 Gaming Edition via USB. The Colossus Cards are seated on my motherboard. All of them are HDMI In.

Is there a newer version I can run that has the same user interface and can record without jumbling? I would just like to be able to "set it and forget it" in terms of recording channels. Thanks!!

The current version v6 has the same interface for day to day use. ie, nextpvr.exe. The one-off configuration stuff is done in the web browser though.

I don't know if it'll be any different on this front though - I've only got a single HDPVR2.

Understood. So, it sounds like there is not a fix for this issue and I may need to run One Card or One PVR per machine?

If you try v6 and it's still a problem, I'll try to see if I can come up with a fix.

It's only a problem because the drivers are reordering the devices. Normally that doesn't happen.

FYI, v4 to v6 isn't an inplace upgrade. You'd need to backup your npvr.db3/config.xml files, unsintall v4, then install v6 and restore your npvr.db3/config.xml

I just did a clean install of V6. But, using the Colossus Cards, I do not have a scan option so I am having to "import" channels. When I edit my channel and hit save, nothing happens. Any insight into this would be great. Not sure if I am missing a step.....
