Client Search not working

Client Search not working

Just built a new system on a min-pc and found out the search from the client app not working.
I get the search menu, select a character, press return and nothing.
The web app works OK.

For anyone who might come across this, the problem turned out to be a corrupt DB.
Specifically, the EPG_Event table was damaged.

I only keep 6 daily backups of my DB, and by the time I discovered this problem I had cycled thru all of them.

Since I didn't want to risk missing some of the config I did originally, (a lot of IPTV channels, mapping, etc.) I used sqlitestudio to build the new DB.
I was able to copy all the old table data into the new DB and it seems to be OK now.

I only keep 6 daily backups of my DB, and by the time I discovered this problem I had cycled thru all of them.

You might want to re-consider your backup strategy to keep daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly backups according to your needs.
I backup weekly and can roll back to any given week within the last 6 months. (I'm more concerned about losing any config changes that I am about losing recent recordings which I can re-import anyway)

I will definitely start keeping a longer backup.

I am using NextPVR 6.1.5 and the client no longer has a search option. Any Ideas!

The OP has asked me to block his posts so not sure if he found a solution, but Search is definitely still available in NextPVR.exe and UI clients. Perhaps upload your zipped logs as the problem may not even be related.

Not sure what you mean. It's still got a 'Search' screen.

Are you not seeing it, or something going wrong when you try to search?

This screenshot shows v4 “search” in the main menu that lets you search the guide for shows. The latest version I have doesn’t have it.

It is there but looking at the v4 menu you have removed menu items. Because of changes since the removing options might cause a problem, if you use config.xml defaults does it fix it? There always was a minimum maybe you need one more?
