I added the ip address for the server, and put the PIN in the space under, but the app never connects. I only bought it because I had some Google play funds that I'd earned taking surveys that was going to expire and nothing better to spend it on. Big Grin

I can post the NPVR logs if you need them, but scrubbing the personal info from them is so tedious I'd rather not if not necessary.

Did it auto detect your server and list them? If so, just click on them, no login required.

If you're on another network, or some other reason why UDP discovery might be blocked, you'd probably need to manually add the server (using ipaddress:port, and pin). If that's not working for you, you'd need to post the logs, so I can see what it's unhappy with.

For the most part, NextPVR tries really hard to make sure no personal info is stored in the logs, so that they can be freely post without putting the user at risk.

It didn't auto-detect the server. I tried logging in using what I think the PIN is, but I set it up so long ago I may have it wrong. Is there some way to change it? I used the Access page in the settings, but I can't tell if that changed the PIN or not. Do you have to press the "Update Login" button?

Since the only way I could get NextPVR to play well with schedulesdirect was to use the same login for both, my schedulesdirect login name (which is also an email address) is in plain text in the logs. So are the ZIP codes for my channel lineups.

ps The Android device I am trying to use is on the same network.

pps Now I see that none of the Windows machines on my network can access NextPVR except the host, so I've obviously got more problems than I realised.

ppps Opened port in firewall on server for both tcp and udp. Chrome browser on Android can access NextPVR, but the Android client running on the same tablet can't.

Don't sweat this too much, I just wanted to give it a try and use up my Google play balance before it expires. I hope you get a cut!

Thanks, I changed the udp port in windows firewall and on the Android app. It still wouldn't work, so I forced the app to stop, cleared all data, and restarted it. It then found the server on its own and connected when I clicked on it.

I was able to watch live tv on it. I don't have any recordings in NextPVR to test it with, I always move them to my NAS and use vlc to play them.

I can't see any obvious sign of a login request making it to the NextPVR server. You sure you don't have firewall software blocking NextPVR? TCP port 8866 (unless you've changed the default)
