I have good news, so far so good with V93.10, it has recorded with Audio on all channels so far, but it has been limited to 6 channels, I am going to start adding more channels soon. If any of these has a problem I'll get back to you.

Try sending a PM to Sub to see if he will make it available. As this is not shareware I can't help you out.

I'm getting a glitch too w/ sound on one channel. I went into WinTV and tuned it in right, ran FreqCopy, and GB just has static.

I am having the same problems as buckeye. Difference is that I have a PVR150 (non MCE) and I have the problems on different channels.

Everything worked great for about 2 days now some channels tune in b/w and fuzzy with no audio. WinTV32/2000 has no problems with tuning into these chanels.

Today when I powered on my machine it tuned perfectly for about 30 minutes then took on the bad symptoms described above.

I'll play some more and let you know if I find anyting.

I have the pvr 150 (non mce)
I have talked to my cable company and they say that they use the standard frequencies . i have got 2 channels to work by adding 1mhz to the standard and entering the channel freq.
i still don't have 4 channels
tried several freq around the central freq -- nothing on those channels

A few updates,
*My tuner would work properly for the first hour of opperation then I would loose audio and get fuzzy video on certain channels.
*WinTV would still work properly
*I checkd the registry and it didn't even have an entry for [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\TV System Services\TVAutoTune\TS0-0] which leads me to beleive that GBPVR picks up the frequencies else where.
* When I used freqcopy and created that registry GBPVR's opperation did not change.

Since the audio and video would go bad after a short period of opperation I began thinking that the problem was heat related. On the other hand WinTV still worked which led me to beleive it wasn't heat related.

Here is what I did
*Turned on PVR and verified that it worked.
*After an hour I verified that the picture went bad.
*I rebooted the system and the picture was still bad (PVR remaind warm)
*Let the PVR cool and verified that it worked again.
*Added two small fans infront of the tuner card. Kept the system on for 9 hours verified that it still worked.

At this point I think my problem is heat related. I discovered a few things:
*Heat effects the tuning of my PVR-150 (and probably your too so keep it cool)
*[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\TV System Services\TVAutoTune\TS0-0] is not where GBPVR (0.94.12) gets its tuning information (at least on my system)
*WinTV must have some sort of mechanism to fine tune channels on the fly.

I just purchased a PVR150 a couple of days ago and noticed the same problem as some people on this thread. I am connected to Rogers cable (Canada). All channels work perfectly in WinTV2000 but in GBPVR some channels did not have audio. (i.e. 27, 29, 36,...) I have read several threads and none of them worked but it did help in finding a resolution for my problem, thanks. After many hours I found this solution to my problem.

1. Optional: Uninstall and reinstall hauppauge drivers & apps (WinTV2000). May not be necessary.
2. Run Tuning assistant and take note of the 9 digit freqency for the channel above your problem channel. (ex. note 30 for 29). Note there is no sound in Tuning assistant.
3. Run Config and go to the Capture sources tab. In "Edit" recording source, modify the "source channel" for the problem channel with the noted frequency as per Step 2 and add 112500 (253187500+112500=253300000)
4. Repeat steps 2 & 3 for the other problem channels.

In my case I only had about 5 channels to change so it wasn't that bad. If it doesn't work for you the first time I suggest you try adding in 500 to 1000 increments. once you have the right offset it should work for all the problem channels.

Well I hope this helps someone. Thanks previous posters.

Goby, I have been discussing this all-too-common PVR150 problem with Hauppauge. This is not a GB-PVR, and seems to most (if not all) Directshow applications. The Hauppauge WinTV app does not use the standard Directshow tuning calls, so it does not have this problem itself.

Can you please post the exact Model and Rev of your capture device? Its printed on the tuner label on the board. Can you also tell me which country you have configured you capture source for, and whether you have selected Cable/Antenna? I'm guessing you're in the USA?

Hopefully this info will help Hauppauge get to the bottom of it.

BTW, thanks for the work around. I'm some users will be pleased to have this option available to them.

Here are the specs of my WinTV-PVR-150 card.

Model 26032 Rev. C199
Serial #8003346
Tuner Model/Formats: TCL 2002N_5H // (M/N)
Card info from ProdInfo.exe found at the link below -> http://www.hauppauge.com/html/sw_pci_selector.htm

Capture source: PVR-150
Country: Canada
Input: Cable

Yes it definately seems to be a Hauppauge issue as I had similar problems when I tried it with other PVR software (BTV and Sage). GBPVR is by far the best that I've tried.

I am having similar problems with the loss of audio on several channels with a PVR-150.

Here are my specs:
Rev. C199
Model 26032

Country: USA
Input: Cable (Comcast)

I thought it was due to my cable provider's recent change of channel numbers until I found several threads on this forum. I was using WinTV2000 and have just installed GB-PVR to see if it would work. My setup had been working fine for several months, the problem only occurred after relocating my PC. I only moved it about 5 feet, but I did disconnect and reconnect all wires. I disconnected and reconnected the Coax cable and rebooted the PC and was able to get sound back on one channel. The channels without sound are random and not in a range as described by others. So far I have found the following channels with problems: 38, 43, 49, 50, 55, 56. (Travel Channel, Cartoon Network, Food Network, The Learning Channel, E Entertainment TV, MTV) Cartoon Network is the one that I lost and regained audio on.

Hope my info was helpful. I'm looking forward to being able to use my PVR without worry again and also to using GB-PVR, with the little I've done with it so far it seems much better than my previous methods.

edit: forgot to mention that I downloaded the most recent divers from Hauppage.

For those users with this missing audio problem, Hauppauge have supplied me with a set of pre-release drivers which will hopefully address the issue. If you'd like to give them a try, email me at support@devnz.com
