No Listing // Transcoder Excited

Hello,
im totaly new to this kinda stuff.
I have an old PC as my Homeserver. It is running Jellyfin for music and movies and Moonlight to stream my GamingPC to my livingroom.
Specs: i5-4690 / Radeon R5 239 1GB / RAM 8GB DDR3

Now i bought a Hauppauge 5525 TVTuner Card.
With the original Hauppauge Software WinTV it works perfect. But you can not implement WinTV into Jellyfin as far as i know.
So i just tried to install NextPVR and ran the Channel-Scan.
On DVB-S it found 235 Channels. (Im from Germany)
After that i ran the EPG Scan and it walked through without any problems.

But there are only working 5 Channels.
-KIKA HD
-ZDFInfo HD
-zdf_neo HD
-3sat HD
-ZDF HD

All the other Cahnnels say (no listing) and after a while of loading i get the error "Streaming Failed (transcoder exited)"


In Jellyfin there are shown all Channels but no Channel is working. I always just get a BlackScreen without any Errorcode.

Let's focus on getting NextPVR working before bothering with Jellyfin.

When you say not working do you mean no guide data, I didn't see you play that many channels?

When you do an EPG scan in WinTV are you saying you get guide data for all the channels? There seems to be a lot of skipped EPG data that sub the author of NextPVR (and a good part of WinTV) will need to comment on.

Were they free to air channels, or encrypted? 235 Channels sounds like it it'd be too many to be free to air via DVB-S. I'm guessing the bulk of these channels were encrypted pay tv channels, and they'll fail if you try to watch one. Did you find these same channels in WinTV, and could you watch them there?

Usually during scan it'd default to only ticking those channels that are non-encrypted. Ticking the other channels will save them, but they'll be unusable.

Yes they should be free. In total i found over 450 Channels.
I Checkmarked the encrypted out and was left with those 235 Channels.

I dont know if every one of them is totaly free, but our National TV Channels like ARD and ZDF should normaly work.
Also i didnt test alls 235 Channels in WinTV . But i tried many and all of them worked there!

EPG in WinTV is not complete but there are informations for much more Channels than 5.

Pick a specific channel, like ARD, and confirm you can watch it in WinTV (to confirm it's a strong enough signal etc), then try the same channel in NextPVR. If it's not working zip up the logs immediately after, and post them.

My point was you didn't test very many Live TV channels in NextPVR and I only saw one failure which leads to an "IsComplete()" bug in 6.1.5.

Now i tried some of the most used german Channels.

All of them work in WinTV (With EPG and stream without stuttering) but none of them works in NextPVR (No EPG and no stream).
NextPVR always brings up the "Transcoder Excited Error.

Could you restart the NextPVR service from Windows services or reboot the PC to clear the tuning device. This is an odd one.

You might as well turn off the Jellyfin add-on or go into setting to increase the polling time or set it to zero so we don't see the Jellyfin calls in the logs.

I took Jellyfin and WinTV out of the Autostart and rebooted.

But it makes no difference.

Thanks, same result as you say. I didn't want WinTV removed since sub wants you to confirm it works on the same channel. How long does it take WinTV to tune? Is it more than 15 seconds?

Maybe there is a clue if you zip up C:\Users\Public\WinTV\Logs\log.txt
