Have you tried any clients other the AFTV? It has known issues with mpeg tv. There definitely is a client side issue here too

There sure seems to be signal issues too on some channels.

I have tried consuming the streams directly using VLC, the native HDHomeRun app, and via the NextPVR webapp and have not been able to reproduce the same behavior.

I was not aware the Firesticks had issues with mpeg streaming. Are there any devices you'd recommend as better alternatives? I've seen folks suggest the ONN devices with GoogleTV as decent alternatives.

I would try Kodi on other PC's in your house before getting an ONN.
