EPG Channel sort order

Is there a way to sort the channels in the Channel Editor EPG mapping from an XMLTV source alphabetically (or another way)?  Right now they are coming into the dropdown in the order that they are downloaded in the xml file.  I would like to avoid a linux jq hack if possible.  Thanks.

I would like to see this (as an option) for Schedules Direct too. For large lists I have to download the list and figure out what channel it is to get the channel number.

I have a similar wish list for the channel order for the guide in the browser and UI clients.

well my script hack does work (combination of bash and python).  the channels do appear in order in the list.  If there is interest I will post it.

The reason it doesn't sort that drop down is because there is quite a few xmltv files that the name starts with the channel number, and ordered in the correct order (ie, usually any xmltv out of North America). Sorting them stuffs the order up and makes it more difficult.

I've changed it to sort by default, but also added a setting in Settings->General->Misc where you can untick 'Sort Guide Mappings', so we can hopefully accommodate whatever will suit the user best.
