Thanks Martin, this is brilliant, I have it all working now. The EPG was not working as I had not mapped the channels.
One more question, should it be possible to record multiple channels simultaneously?
Thanks again

I just saw my maximum connections was set to 1. Increased to 10 and now working. Smile

Great the reason I don't default it higher is after the first few seconds streamink is requesting a new token for each segment so it could impact Live TV.  If you find it choppy pause for a while.

Also now that streamlink is working for you, you can consider a hybrid solution in the extra file.  Looking at https://forums.nextpvr.com/showthread.ph...#pid596427 there is a link the the iptv-org BBC mpd files.  https://github.com/iptv-org/iptv/blob/ma...uk_bbc.m3u  NextPVR can't play them but streamlink can.

From that page I would test any BBC streams you might watch from the command line

Code:
streamlink https://vs-cmaf-push-ww-live.akamaized.net/x=4/i=urn:bbc:pips:service:bbc_news_channel_hd/iptv_hd_abr_v1.mpd best

and if it works  edit the extras-filmon.xml and replace the filmon URL with the mpd URL Also change low to best

Since BBC News isn't in the list you could add this and use it as a template.

Code:
.
  <channel name="BBC News" number="231" group="Filmon" tvg-id=""BBCNews.uk">
   <command>streamlink</command>
    <args>https://vs-cmaf-push-ww-live.akamaized.net/x=4/i=urn:bbc:pips:service:bbc_news_channel_hd/iptv_hd_abr_v1.mpd best -O</args>
    <icon>https://tv.assets.pressassociation.io/30df16d5-6b8a-5d2e-b48f-cf38b5c6c9dc.png</icon>
</channel>

Thanks Martin
I am using Jellyfin with the NextPVR plugin as my IPTV client. Those links don't play using streamlink, but they work great using ffmpeg as in your other linked post Smile

They should work with streamlink cli. I do see my streamlink example got caught because of the forum URL shortener, try again. I find streamlink is slightly better getting selecting the best stream.

Thanks Martin, I shall keep fiddling. I notice that the ITV channels are missing from your extra. They are listed in the UK m3u here
https://github.com/iptv-org/iptv

ITV1 for example is
https://x.canlitvapp.com/u-itv1/index.m3u8

i have tried adding it to your extra using Streamlink and ffmpeg, but it does not work. Is there any way to get these channels working?

Cheers

I noted that there was no ITV and you noted that the iptv-org listings for that source didn't work. I don't know any quasi-legit URL's streaming them. I did look when they were removed from Filmon

Honestly your best bet is probably just to get a DVB-T tuner for NextPVR now that you know more about it. You will likely get more channels too.

I don't have an ariel. My TV provider is Sky with a dish.
I have one of these Sky Q Boxes
http://storage.sky.com/prod/helpcentre/m...HD_box.pdf
and 3 of these mini boxes
https://midlandskyservices.co.uk/sky-q-m...x-61-p.asp

Is there anything that can take the output from one of these mini boxes and into NextPVR on my PC?

Yes and no. If they accept IR remotes and you have a lot of technical skill you could use an HDMI capture device from one your devices, but you can get one channel at a time.

That would be no good for how I want to use it. I may have a cunning plan though, please shoot me down if I have this all wrong.

From what I understand my SkyQ dish had a dual channel wide band LNB and due to some cunning wizardry in the main SkyQ box this allows me to watch 1 channel and record up to 6 others at the same time.

What if I replaced my LNB with one of these
https://www.amazon.co.uk/Visiblewave-Hyb...1Z2YP?th=1

I could still connect the wideband to my SkyQ box and continue to use my Sky boxes as i currently do. I could then connect the quad satellite connectors to one of these
https://vboxcomm.co.uk/vbox-android-tv-g...rder=price

As long as i connect this VBOX into my LAN then I should be able to scan these satellite feeds with NextPVR?

Would this give 4 separate tuners/connections in NextPVR. So I could either watch 4 channels at once or record 3 and watch 1?

I don't actually need the HDMI out/remote, all I really need is the sat inputs > Ethernet, do you know of any boxes that would do this maybe cheaper?

If this works it well it may be in the future i could cancel my Sky subscription and just use Freesat

Thanks again
