thats the drivers I DLed  in red. additionally I have the tuner cards physically inserted into the PCI slots however in BIOS the PCI slots are empty. when installing the drivers the error message is make sure the tuners are plugged in.

edit: now I haven't DLed the 2nd link you post for the 2250. just seams weird that the sys. thinks these tuners arn't in the sys. when  they physically are.
thanks

Maybe broken / non-functional devices.

That's why I suggested waiting for info from @briantho's post to see what Hauppauge suggests or just contact Hauppauge for yourself.

Please note both boards are no longer supported, but both boards can work with Windows 10. Specially the HVR-2250, the HVR-1800 depends on the system as it uses a different PCIe gen type that is older and some systems might not recognise it.

looks like I'll have to order the silicon dust an connect though rj45 ethernet port. or this

Sounds like the 2250 should work my experience is the reception quality has been better than the HDHR.

yes I agree I've had the silicon dust home run an it was a bit scketchy at times w/ win7 media center where the haugapge never really cancel shows due to lose of signal.

I may have the 2250 in the wrong PCI slot so I'll exchange there are 2 shot slots an one long slot. can I plug the 2250 into the long slot? BC I've tryed both short slots thanks

You'd have to ask Hauppauge generally you can use short devices in long slots.

The HDHR devices will work fine, but at the same time they aren't better at receiving than Hauppauge.  You can get multi-rec with Hauppauge.  Sounds like you are looking at used devices, personally I'd consider the ATSC 3 HDHR since it's a quad tuner.

is this your suggestion? https://shop.silicondust.com/shop/product/hdfx-4k/

I make suggestions not recommendations. The Quatro you linked it is not ATSC 3 but is a good match for NextPVR. NextPVR doesn't support ATSC 3 directly anyway many ATSC 3.0 stations are now DRM'd and the audio is not PC friendly and hevc video is not web friendly. There is a chance that ATSC 1 will be sunset (ie not usable) so best to read up on that on the Silicondust forum.
