I have a fresh install of NextPVR (v7) on a Windows 11 touchscreen all-in-one PC.
All is working as before, same PC Win10 but don’t know which version of NextPVR.
I have a couple of little niggles I would love to fix.
I want to be able to start NextPVR in a ‘Maximised’ window but not in ‘Full screen’ mode.
I want the Windows Taskbar to remain visible, this was how it worked on Win10.
What do I have to change to make it work like that on this new Win11 install?
The other issue is that on my previous install there was a mini toolbar that would appear for a few seconds that allowed me to change channels up and down etc. when I tapped the screen.
How do I get this back instead of the full width channel banner across the bottom?

I can't help you and these are not new issues but moved your thread to the appropriate forum for NextPVR.exe for sub.

For the startup issue perhaps just edit your desktop icon to start maximized. You may need to change the resolution if the quality is not good.

I don't think it has ever worked like that. NextPVR.exe is either in windowed mode, or fullscreen (maximized).

In windowed mode, you can resize it, and it'll remember the size.

If you click the maximize button (or press alt-enter), it'll switch to fullscreen mode, which entirely covers the screen. When in fullscreen mode, pressing the Windows key will cause the taskbar to appear over NextPVR.

When you run maximized from a shortcut or start "" /MAX NextPVR.exe you do get a taskbar and a title bar

Thanks for moving my post.
I’d been looking in the right forum but then had a wee look in the Announcements and forgot to go back before posting.

Yes, a deeper exploration of the options in Windows did sort the startup issue.
You can set it to start in a Maximised window, but leave the Fullscreen option unticked in the NextPVR settings.

I use NextPVR as a, mostly dumb, way of keeping in touch with what is being watched on the main TV while making visits to the kitchen in the back of the house. It is installed on a touchscreen PC in the kitchen without a keyboard or mouse attached.

I’m still looking to get the mini temporary toolbar with the channel up/down buttons.

That OSD toolbar was removed with the new skins several versions ago so sub would need to comment. Given that NextPVR.exe isn't touch friendly are you mapping some keys to gestures? If so maybe map something to page up/down.

I do wonder how many users actually surf TV in 2025?

It is a shame, for me at least, that the popup OSD toolbar was removed.
Is there any way/option to get it back?

I can’t find a way to map touchscreen gestures to anything other than a few basic Windows OS commands.
I’m not sure I have the right drivers for the touchscreen, although all the standard multi-touch commands do work.

Purely for information should anyone be interested:
I have, surprisingly, successfully installed Windows 11 onto an old Sony Vaio Tap-20 all-in-one PC with an i5-3337U and 8GB of Ram.
It serves its purpose very well, that is of letting me check my email & social media, surf for recipes etc., and watch TV in the kitchen.

I have 2 Sky-Q boxes elsewhere in the house, both with modulators converting the HDMI output to DVB-T2 and out over coax around the house.
I have NextPVR set to only show those two channels and I am looking for a quick and easy way to change between those two channels via the touchscreen PC in the kitchen.
Currently, if I tap and hold on the screen the right-click menu appears and I then have to tap Channels and then the channel I want to watch.

I gesturing up or down opens the mini guide can't you touch the channel you want? That seems a little less tedious.
