Are there instructions for setting up comskip? I know it's on my debian headless server from the Tivo days, I just don't know any programming.

Maybe try a forum search for how other users have done it and make that your Linux version is current.

I just switched the last part , > /var/opt/nextpvr/logs/"comskip-${5}.log" To >/dev/nul and will see how that works. The comskip forum has closed for business so there is NO ONE to ask!!!

That is one reason I don't support scripts, you can't simply assume another user's scripts (or something from ChatGPT) will work for you. That one as the additional problem (although it helped me) since it starts to fill up the log folder and the support zip file, so you might want to clean those out. Feel free to create a page on the wiki for user scripts.
My recommendation for all scripts is to redirect to /dev/null or NULL on Windows once they are working. eg https://forums.nextpvr.com/showthread.ph...#pid533220 for Docker which wouldn't apply to you. Martin

I had searched the forum but everyone speaks programmer geek. I was hoping there was a step by step for us non techie, programmers.
Example, I know this is a script and I know you would place it in a file and probably associate it to *.bat. #!/bin/bash /usr/bin/nice -n 19 /usr/local/bin/comskip --ini=/etc/comskip.ini "$1" > /var/opt/nextpvr/logs/"comskip-${5}.log" But what to do after that is beyond me. Oh well, I guess I'll keep the commercials. I only keep at most 4 anyway.

The wiki explains the script locations names etc, but yes users need to create their own and yes script programming is still programming. One problem noted on this thread is not all scripts that users post are valid and you picked a bad one by not reading the whole thread.
