I was scrolling ahead in the program guide overlay (live TV showing in the background), when at some point the display stopped and then the NextPVR.exe window disappeared a couple of seconds later.

Because this happened at least once before, now I know it's not a one-off situation so I'm attaching the log .ZIP for investigation.

FWIW, at the time I was using the right-arrow on a WMC remote to move through the guide.

Thanks in advance for any insights or solutions you might suggest.

As I figured we probably would need to see the Windows Error report on what crashed. However the rendering engine in NextPVR is very slow especially when you use the OSD guide over Live TV and you were updating pretty often, faster than you could read the screen. Rather then moving with the right key, consider moving by screen with FF and RW to improve performance.

Thanks, I tried that and it seems to work much the same as the arrow keys, except that with the FF and RW buttons it jumps in two-hour increments.

I kept pressing the FF buttons to scroll through the guide and NextPVR.exe eventually crashed just the same.

Out of curiosity, I tried doing the same thing via the client (not overlay) menu, and the same thing happened: NextPVR.exe stopped and closed. FWIW, before it shut down I did notice that the guide display had gotten only to December 8 even though it's supposed to have several more days of program info available.

In case it matters, my wife sometimes will scroll quickly through a channel on the EPG. On WMC, we can keep doing that even past the point where the program info ends.

This is all in preparation for the day when I introduce NextPVR to her.  Smile  In order to avoid unwelcome surprises that will bottom out the WAF, I want to be in a position to tell her how to perform the usual operations.

Attaching the Event Viewer files for the two NPVR crashes; with any luck, they'll yield something useful (IMX they seldom do).

UPDATE: Having trouble attaching the .EVTX files. They show up in the attachment field, but when I go to save the changes they're no longer there in the updated post.

UPDATE 2: Put them into a .ZIP file and then the upload worked.

The event logs show the same external library crashing libSkiaSharp.dll That is kind of what I expected based on other user's experiences. 7.0.3 does use a different version of the library it might not be better but it is different, but I would wait for 7.0.4.

I only offered FF and RW to reduce the chance of the expected libSkiaSharp.dll crash. It is not a solution.

BTW in post #2 I did tell you attachments had to be zipped.

Perhaps since it is easily repeatable for you if you could make your database available via external links sub and I could check.

When NPVR crashes like that, will the recording of a current program continue, or also come to a halt? I believe that in WMC the recording function is a separate process, such that you can close the WMC UI but recording will continue.

Will await version 7.0.4.

Sounds interesting. Do you mean uploading the database to a file transfer site, such as Dropbox or WeTransfer?

Which database (file) do you have in mind for me to upload? Apologies, but I'm not familiar enough yet with NPVR's workings.

It depends, with NextPVR.exe only the client crashes. UI clients for many platforms use the server for rendering the NextPVR GUI and they crash the server with libskiasharp errors too.

Yes external dropbox, we transfer google drive one drive. NPVR.db3 is the database.
