I installed the new version this morning, when skipping a show it crashed and I had to close with mouse.

NextPVR.exe didn't change much but if you post any logs from the event viewer we can check. I expect it is another libskia issue that wasn't fixed but would have occurred in previous versions. This release only got the most basic one.

I would say no. The only changes in that file since 7.0.3 are the now/next channel list showing the proper channels in Live TV.

I've seen this many times over the last few releases.
The culprit is usually an error in the LAV codec causing the client to hang (error shows in the Windows Event log).
Updating the codec version hasn't fixed the problem.

This is the first time I have used the LAV codecs. Are you using something else?

I'm using the latest LAV 32bit codecs.
Overall they are OK and the ones recommended to use with NPVR.
