NPVR UI shutting down spontaneously

@Joram: When you install the LAV decoders, be sure that you install the 32-bit version (even on a 64-bit operating system) because the NextPVR.exe image is a 32-bit version.

if they are over 2MB you will need to upload them to something like OneDrive or Google Drive etc. & provide an external link.

Thanks @Jaggy, fortunately the file I uploaded earlier turned out to be less than 2MB but this is good to know for the next time.

All right, the LAV decoders are installed and NextPVR has been updated to version 7.0.5. Will monitor the situation (so to speak) and report in a few days, unless something happens sooner.

If you create a c:\temp directory, do you get a c:\temp\crash.mdmp file created when the app closes?

There is a c:\temp folder and a crash.mdmp file in it, but FWIW the date is 02/03/2026 and the file size is shown as 0 KB.

Maybe try yauiclient rather than NextPVR.exe to see if is something else. Do you use closed captionning?

A lot of actors mumble their lines nowadays, so we do use closed-captioning. 

Is yauiclient recommended for those who use CC, or for those who don't use CC?

(Update: I just started reading up on yauiclient on this forum. Looks interesting.)

I mentioned closed captioning because some people and to remove the filter it uses. I personally like the CCs in yauiclient because it doesn't have the delay and the sync is better.

yauiclient3 is able out and it has a lot of improvements
