Hi, I have a few questions/observations after updating from 4.2.5 to 7.0.5 a couple of weeks ago. (I could do multiple posts, but maybe putting all questions in one creates less noise...)
I've had a look at the wiki but cannot find the answers; the following is all related to running the windows client (win 11), when looking at the TV Guide and selecting a channel to watch.
1) Is there meant to be an OSD? I'm sure I saw it visible once while paused, but it disappeared after resuming or FF'ing. I've never seen it again. Something broken in my setup?
2) Often I pause a live broadcast; sometimes when I resume then FF or RW, after the jump, there is no audio. It is intermittent but usually happens as often as every 4th FF or RW press. It does not seem to be a problem in the stream, as for example I can FF (right arrow) 60s, then left arrow twice to go back, and the audio starts again.
3) Don't know if related to (2) - I was watching a channel which defaults to an audio stream for visually impaired (for other NZ readers - Duke+1). I accidentally changed audio stream to 'disabled', and after sound stopped, changing back to the correct audio stream (ENG or for visually impaired) didn't reactivate the audio. I had to abandon watching that program (and return to the TV Guide and start again), which was bad because I was paused a long way into that program and I missed most of that broadcast.
4) Keys R and F (for 10 sec RW/FF) work same as 4.2.5, cool. But took me a while to realise I now need to hold CTRL with right or left arrows for 60s FF/30s RW. Is there a way to map just arrow keys (without CTRL) to these actions, as I don't know of any other use of arrows during playback?
5) Minor inconvenience - if I watch a channel and then press ESC, I return to the TV Guide. But if I FF or RW while watching, I have to press ESC twice to return to the TV Guide. Expected? (And if I get in the habit of always pressing twice, in the case where the first ESC works, the second press takes me out of the TV Guide and back to the main menu.)
I'll attach a snapshot of my current renders/decoders; this has not changed from my old win10/4.2.5 setup, where I also had older hardware. (I had a Hauppauge HVR-2200 and now have a Hauppauge quadHD.) Happy to update renderers or decoders if people have suggestions for better ones!
Thanks!
