Tuning a channel

Right.

The booster didn't help it either, i.e. removing it. Still happened. I removed splitters before, and things got better, with just CBS dropping out once in a blue moon. Then it started happening on multiple channels, so I posted back.

Your best bet is to enable the diagnostics on your 1036B9BC tuner on the advanced tab in C:\Program Files\Silicondust\HDHomeRun\hdhomerun_setup.exe and post on the Silicondust forum since they can monitor it when it records and capture information we can't see.
