I know plugins can be accessed while watching Live TV by adding them in config.xml but they view at full screen and sometimes it's distracting. Also, don't know if it will work with Live TV on Live TV.

Wished there was a real PIP, probably a smaller window in a corner using another free tuner (provided it's available) to view other channels while watching another channel. Combined with the live tv guide, a chance to preview the show without removing the original show would be a good feature then switch if I like previewed show.

ON these same lines, with a PIP or small picture. One could hit GUIDE and the picture could shrink up to the corner. A few, say 4 lines of GUIDE on the bottom with METADATA info on the opposite side of the TV or recording. My Time Warner Cable digital box does this, and yes I know that Sage.TV does it as well.

Just a thought...

I agree, that would be better than just the 2 channels at a time.

Sorry guys. I've said a few times in the past I've got no plans to add PIP functionality. I've never found myself using PIP on any of my TVs that had this feature in the past. It also wouldnt be possible with the XCard, PVR350, MVP.

You can already bring up a (mini) guide and still see what you are watching, just by pressing 'guide' from within gbpvr.

To be honest, I agree with sub - personally I've found PiP to be a toy that I have played with for 5 minutes, then never bothered. Plus IMHO something that would break / fork compatability with a significant part of the userbase (Xcard, PVR350, MVP) would be a bad idea....

i agree it could break usuability with certain cards, thats why i suggested that it be a plugin so that ppl who could/wanted to use it would be able to.

not a real need, just would be a good feature for ppl with multiple tuners instead of just being able to record/watch multiple shows at the same time. kinda to show em off! haha

and there are also times when i want to watch 2 shows or sporting events at the same time without recording and then having to go back and watch it at a later time. anyone else do the same thing?
