Here's the muxes I've tried and the results I've gotten:

CyberLink MPEG Muxer
VERSION: 5.0.0727

The .mpg files are jittery like there's slight pauses every few seconds.

CyberLink MPEG Muxer
VERSION: 5.0.0813

Same as the previous version of the Cyberlink Muxer.

ShowShifter MPEG PS Writer
VERSION: 3.12.0.2945

This one doesn't record anything, it just seems to hang.

ts muxer

Someties this creates .ts files and sometimes it creates 0kb files.

Microsoft DVR-MS muxer

This works great. The files are clean and they playback well. However, mencoder can't transcode it and I don't want to add another step of converting it to a mpg file. I'd like to keep the number of time I process a 7 gig file to minimum Big Grin.

I'm running the latest DVICO drivers (3.00.02 I believe)

Anyone have any luck with any versions of the muxers?

My results have been similar to yours with one exception; I haven't had 0kb .ts outputs since I tested the addition of ATSC a couple releases ago.

With regards to the Cyberlink mux, I do recall that having several versions installed on my HTPC seemed to be the cause of the jittery recordings. After rebuilding my HTPC the jittery recordings stopped. Unfortunately, I don't have access to my HTPC at the moment so I'm not able to share which version of the mux I am using. I remember working with sub on this and he mentioned that several versions of the Cyberlink mux would have issues such as the one you described. I'll see if I can dig up that info.

(I received your PM and thought it would be best to answer your question here in case other Fusion users had the same question.)

Hmmm,

The PC I installed the Fusion card on was just rebuilt the day before. Perhaps another piece of software is causing the jittery recordings. I worked with sub as well but I don't know which muxer he used at the time. CPU utilization is low and there's more than enough system resources. When reading in the DVR-MS-to-MPEG conversion forums, I read that the Cyberlink muxer has trouble with the AC3 audio in ATSC files but that may be a DVR-MS issue.

I had no end of problems with the cyberlink muxes. When sub included dvr-ms that changed my pvr from a sometimes watchable into a allways watchable. You can convert your shows in a batch format from dvr-ms to .mpg. For me this is the best way. Why not do it overnight?

Darx-starz,

Thanks for replying. So you are saying that the cyberlink muxes worked for you but they weren't always watchable? I've been converting DVR-MS files manually because I can't find an automated way of successfully doing it. All the automated methods listed use the cyberlink muxer which can't seem to handle the conversion. I use the Moonlight M71 muxer and get great results but it's not an automated process currently. It seems that all Fusion users are using the DVR-MS muxer.

Currently, I do the following to each program:
- Manually convert to MPEG-PS
- Run commercial detection
- Cut and compress to Xvid

Ideally I'd like to limit the amount of times I'm processing an 8 gig file so if I can eliminate one of those processes it'd be great.

If you know of an automated way to convert dvr-ms to .mpg, I'd love to hear about it.

I need help with my fusion hdtv5 lite.

I can't even get the cyberlink muxer installed. I downloaded the demo version of powerdvd but the muxchecker utility doesn't show any muxers.

What software do you use to do the conversion from dvr-ms to mpeg. Can you share your batch file with us?

Thanks
