I am using V 0.94.13

Under Misc Tab I have checked off Dont Record duplicates (zap2it)

I am using zaptoit

But every show that is sheduled with same description records anyways

Very frustrating.. I have never had it work

Also I have Auto-skip commercials enabled. I put comskip.exe in the directory
I see a bunch of xls files and text files, but the recordings have all the commercials in it..

Please help!

It does not look at the descriptions, only at the (whatsitcalled?) program id(?) so if your zap2it data has different program ids, then it will still record them all.
I'm not always right

If you hit the "blue" button during playback, does the progress bar have any black "holes" where the commercials are? If comskip runs and is setup correctly, it should have. Otherwise gbpvr won't skip anything.

I have it set to write the commercial free version. it doesnt seem to be doing that.

I use gbpvr to record only. I use my Xbox with XBMC to view the movies..

GB-PVR doesnt delete commercials from it's recordings. Instead it just skips over them during playback. This obviously isnt going to help you dont use GB-PVR for playback.

Also I am using zap2it for my canadian Bell Expressview guide. does that contain the info I need for dup detection?

I don't know what you are referring to here.

Sorry, someone who knows anything about how to configure zap2it will have to answer this. I just know that if the info is given to gbpvr, then gbpvr will be able to use it.

No, there is no option to do that. There are some thirdparty utilities you can use to try to cut the adverts out after the recording. Be warned though, they seem to do pretty evil things to the MPEG files, like not correcting the timestamps after removing the sections of file.
