For some reason I keep getting “Renovate my wardrobe” recorded and I would like it to stop doing that. I know if you look at my wardrobe it may need renovating but I'm just not that interested. (It's a big “way to go” to sub if he found a way for GB-PVR to do social commentary like that Smile) )

I have never asked it to record this show. I have checked and “Reoccurring” is empty. I have checked the PriorityRecordings.xlm for anything that would cause this show to be recorded..... Nothing.

Is there a way to tell why it's being recorded? How do I get it to stop?

I would guess you have your EPG set up incorrectly (wrong zip, wrong service provider, etc), and when you think you are setting up to record show x on channel y. Show x is actually on a different channel where you are and instead "Renovate my wardrobe" is on your channel y. Do you happen to be missing any recordings that you think you should have?

If this only happened once, it could just be that they changed the slot for the show after you donwloaded the EPG. But you sound like this is happening everytime the show is on.

Will GBPVR see recordings made by other programs?

Hi Vish.

Thanks for the responce... However It is showing up in the "TV Guide" and the "Pending" list with the correct channel, time, and name. So I don't think it's an incorrect EPG unless there is something else to the EPG that I don't know about.

Other then the Empty Database and downloading it again manualy. is there anything else I can do?

I am still a little confused. The show you are trying to record is showing up in the TV guide on the correct channel, time, and name? The problem I suggested was that you are downloading a EPG from a wrong zip code or something. If you did this you would see in the TV guide that your show is on channel 8 at 9:00 pm. However if you were to turn on your TV you would see that your show was actually on channel 10 at 10:00 or something. If you are downloading the wrong EPG then the TV guide will still make sence, but it might not exactly represent what your service provider is actually giving you.

I want to ask again....are you missing any recordings?

You must have scheduled it somewhere, probably in an external plugin somewhere, or it was already scheduled in the files you downloaded with one of the recording plugins.

Ah. No I am not trying to record this show. Or any other show in this cannel or time slot.

I record all my shows by name in xRecord and I have nothing recorded manual.

The EGP Guild seems to match what the cable broadcaster broadcasts as the current listings.

Also, No, I don't seem to be missing any shows. However I would add that recording by name with record duplicates off means that something could slide by without me knowing. But if my zipcode/time zone/ etc.. was incorrect I would think it would miss lots of things and not just add this one show.

Very certainly not intentionally, That being said I have little problem thinking I may have done it accidentally, Pressing a record button on the remote some place I shouldn't have. I'm not looking to blame anyone or any software. I just want it to stop doing that.

Well, there's an Idea. I recently rebuild the system (new bigger hard drive) and only put three things on.
GB-PVR
xRecord
RssReader.

This did happen on the old drive where I had tried lots of skins and pluging etc.. I had zipped up the old gbpvr directory deleted the directory and reinstalled the three things on the old drive, I copied over some of the files (art, *.mdb, *.xml). I no longer have the zip file.

Now I don't think the RssReader has any thing to do with recording but it may have installed a file by mistake.
Xrecord is a prime candidate. But like I said, All my recordings are in the PriorityRedcordings.xml and it seems fine.

I checked the recordings area and the manual recordings area, nothing.

I checked GB-PVR recordings area, manual and reoccurring, blank. One thing that I did notice is that the pending list in GB-PVR said that it's a one-time recording. This leaves me thinking that something else is automatically adding one-time recordings.

PriorityRecord, RecTracker, etc... I don't know.

That brings me back to the question. How do I find what's recording this show and how do I shop it?

I have tools that would let me examine the *.mdb file but I don't know what to look for.

If you want to zip and send the gbpvr.mdb file to me at support@devnz.com, I'll take a look. That said, one of these other utilities may have this recording stashed elsewhere, but I'm not familiar with them or their files.

If you are using XRecord, check the Scheduler and see if there is an entry for the show there, or if you have a show setup to record by a Keyword search (i.e. title, description, etc), that could be causing the program to show up unexpectedly. Check your recordings.log file that CDK Scheduler generates, that will let you know what shows CDK Scheduler is finding and on which channels.

That should either point to or eliminate the XRecord/CDK Scheduler combination. The next item to check is the Record option in CDK Scheduler, this is like the built in GBPVR Scheduler, and would be the last place that show could be scheduled.

I suspect it is a keyword search recording that is causing it to show up.

Ok, Thanks all for the help! Based on all this I think I have figured it out.

It seams that PriorityRecorders Partial Title matches sub-strings and not words. So, Recording “NOVA” recorded “ReNOVAte my wardrobe”.

So, basically this boiled down to a stupid user problem. I thought it worked a different way.

So again, Thanks for the help but I would ask one more thing. Knowing this, is there any way of recording any of the NOVA shows and not renovate my wardrobe. ie. Is there a way to tell it to never record a specific show.
