Logic to check for show.avi if show.mpg is not found

Would this renaming thingy help me in the following scenario:

My pvrpc has a 40gb disk only.
I record a show, the minute the show is done recording it gets comcut and transcoded into divx/xvid/whatever.
The original file is deleted and the new file is moved to a network drive (nslu2 box) with lots and lots of space.

Would it now still be possible to find the recording in the list of recordings?

Renamerecordings just changes the name, not the path. You would have to export your recordings listing and edit the new pathc to the files, then import the edited list.

Doesn't the Video Archive plugin allow you to move the files to another drive???
If it does, then it's 1) rename recordings and then 2) archive to another drive
