S Video in for PVR350

I have just installed a PVR350 and connected it to my sky digibox. When I connect to the RF out I can scan and pick up all the channels and I get a average picture however whan I connect to S Video in I get nothing. My Sky box has a scart output so I am using a scart to svideo cable. Maybe this is the problem, maybe this doesn't give a true s video source. On WINTV 2000 I can scan the tuner but not the s video input. Any ideas?

In WinTV 2000 try setting up a new channel (Preferences>Channel Suite>New Channel) and then select as its source 'Composite 2'. When setting up your recording source in GB-PVR, again use 'Composite 2'. PVR350 is wierd like this!

I'll give that a try this evening. If I set up a new channel does it matter what channel number I give it?
