It’s very simple indeed.
1. unzip xmltv file in a directory of your choice (better c:\xmltv)
2. Open the DOS Command window (should be under Programs --> accessories --> ... )
3. From the DOS prompt type: cd \xmltv (or cd to the directory you chose)
4. From the DOS prompt type: xmltv tv_grab_xx –-configure (xx is the designation of your country – mine is it, so it become tv_grav_it)
5. From the DOS prompt type: xmltv tv_grab_xx –-days 7 –-output tv.xml (number of days: 7 and tv.xml are what I enter normally)
6. When finished remember to link the output file tv.xml in the configuration program of gbpvr

That’s all

Copy & paste the following line in notepad & save it as rtconfig.bat in your xmltv folder

xmltv tv_grab_uk_rt --configure

Copy & paste the following line in notepad & save it as getxmltv.bat

xmltv tv_grab_uk_rt --days 7 --output data.xml

Run rtconfig.bat & select the stations you want to list - you only have to do this once. The list is saved as tv_grab_uk_rt.conf in the .xmltv folder.
Then run getxmltv.bat to download your first listing which is saved as data.xml.

Configure your caprure card settings in GBPVR to update the epg from the data.xml file

Cool, thanks.

So how do you go about updating when your seven days is up? Manually run the getxmltv.bat? Set it up as a scheduled task? do you run it every day so you always have seven days ahead or update it every seven days?

Sorry for so many questions....will have a play when I get home

Thanks all

Set task scheduler to run the getxmltv.bat file.

Also see http://www.birtles.org.uk/xmltv/ which has a gui and a good link to a xml reader

You can run it every day but it only adds days to the listing, it wont update any changes to your existing listing, ie times & programs

To get around this make another batch file with the following lines

c:
cd "Program Files\devnz\gbpvr"
gbpvr -onlyemptyepg
gbpvr -onlyupdateepg

save this as UpdateEpg.bat

This will empty the epg & load in the latest xml file

All the info is in the Xmltv\doc\man\tv_grab_uk_rt.txt file
You can also use bleb instead of radio times
Xmltv\doc\man\tv_grab_uk_rt.txt

or update the epg from the dvb broadcast signal
