I recently re-upped my account and they reported that between Midnight & 9:00AM CST their servers get hammered and there are connection problems. They were asking people (who could) to change their retrieval times - it might work better for you.

They also report intermittant SOAP errors:
Quote:A small number of users have reported authentication problems with the SOAP service. These errors are sometimes intermittent and usually difficult to pin down.

First, (log in to labs.zap2it.com). Please double-check to ensure that your DataDirect client is using the same username/password pair.

Second, you can login to the SOAP service via your Web browser--you just can't download data from it. If you navigate to the xtvdService URL and input your username/pw, you should receive a 405 Method Not Allowed error (or similar). This means you have successfully authenticated but your Web browser is incapable of accessing data from the SOAP service.
http://datadirect.webservices.zap2it.com...tvdService

Third, please note that the SOAP service uses HTTP Digest authentication, which will always entail a 401 Unauthorized error followed by a 200 error. This is normal. If, however, you receive consistent 401's and never get a 200, you are never authenticating. As such, you will never be able to download listings.

Once you have verified that you have the proper username/pw and that you can authenticate via your browser, note the following unusual issues that can cause authentication problems:
Non-standard MTU size. If you have modified your TCP/IP stack to use a non-standard MTU size, in rare cases the xtvdService seems not to recombine the request packets properly, causing a repeatable authentication error. Try adjusting your MTU size to the default of 576.
Current version of wget. If you are using any software that utilizes wget, ensure that it is version 1.9.1 or above and is compiled with SSL support.
Don't know if this helps.

Is the date set right on your computer?

If you set the following in config.xml, it save a c:\zap2it.xml file containing the information sent by zap2it:

<SaveZap2itXML>true</SaveZap2itXML>
