Thanks to sub's sugestion I have now reregistered the Microsoft demultiplexer that Twinhan seems to deregister.

Unfortunately I'm still having difficulties.

When I get to Capture Sources>Map Digital Chanels to EPG Chanels I get a box saying that the Digital Chanel mapping is Initializing then a an error message :
GB-PVR was unable to start the BDA device you have configured. Check the device is configured properly , and not already in use. (Reason: Failed to nlocate configured BDA capture device.) When I press OK i get a Microsoft Visual C++ debug Library saying that my debug assertion has failed.

Any idea what I could be doing wrong? The TV card is installed and workingproperly on a stand alone basis and I closed it before trying to set up GB-PVR.

Any helpful suggestions gratefully received

You've installed the BDA drivers for your twinhan device right? The default DTV drivers will not work with GB-PVR.

Well i hadn't installed the BDA drivers, but when I did I still got the message that GBPVR was unable to start the BDA device you have configured. Check the device is configured correctly and not already in use.

Moreover once I did this I could no longer use the bundled VisionDTV software Which says "Cannot support card or driver"

If I then reinstall VisionDTV, it sems to reregister the Microsoft demux and I start getting that error message, but can at least watch on the bundled software. I seem to be going round in circles - very frustrating.

Reproduce the problem, then post the logs and I'll take a look.

I'm sure you can understand there is nothing I can do about this. Their VisionDTV software will only work with their proprietary DTV drivers, not the industry standard BDA drivers. GB-PVR only works with the BDA drivers. I'm sure they'll release a version of their software sometime in the future that works with the BDA drivers, but for now you need to choose one or the other, or spend alot of time switching drivers.

Yeah, its really frustrating that they deregister the Microsoft demultiplexer. No other manufacturer does this, just twinhan. You need to remember to re-register it if you want to run any non twinhan software.

Hey Wade, Sense the frustration but stick with it. It does work and it is so worth the effort when it does Smile

Hi I'm still having the same difficulties. I tried wannabepvr's suggestion of removing the Twinhan software removing the card and then reinstalling and it didnt work for me (I have a Twinhan DVB-T rather than the D+A model that I think wannabepvr has, so maybe there s a particular problem with thisunit?

I'm not quite sure how to print out a log, though will try if given instructions.

I do have some printscreens of what is happening

Any idea what the probelm is or what further info I need to give you?

Any help gratefully received.

Just had similar difficulties with twinhan satellite card, but got there in the end. I found that with successive versions of TH BDA driver they changed its name, so you need to check bda.ini and edit the driver names if necessary. You can check the correct names for what is installed by running graphedit. Also check this thread

Yes, your problem is most likely caused by the change to the driver name that occurred a few weeks back.

Am am using a 'T' - Terestrial card, but not with the latest drivers. I am using V1.2.1.9

I tried to update a few days back and windows said it could not find any suitable drivers in the latest BDA download from twinhan. Not that it worries me, but I may have misdirected Wade.

It seems V1.2.1.9 is no longer avaliable from twinhan but I can send the file if you would like to try.
