Hi,

Was wondering if GB-PVR Supports Twinhan Magicbox Pro or not? I've just got one and I'm trying to configure it but it's not in the list with all the other Twinhans.

Thanks

EDIT: After reading a bit more, I've realised my question is a bit dumb. I've tried using graphedit to find the name of my filters, but I don't know where the hell to look. I go insert filter and there's loads of bda options. Nowhere can I find a guide on using graphedit to find these things out. Wouldn't that be an appropriate thing to put in the Wiki??

Can anyone help me here or am I wasting my time?

I still haven't got any closer to getting GB-pvr working. I've posted on about 6 forums with no replies. Am I asking something offensive or something??

Try ScanChannelsBDA:
http://www.dayc.vispa.com/files/ScanChan..._EZ166.exe

It will create a log file. If it lists channels in the log, then chances are that it will work with GB-PVR. You should also be able to obtain the filter names from there.

Thankyou so much!

I've managed to get it to recognise the card now. I did a channel scan and it couldn't find anything. I'm guessing I may have the pin in and out wrong (I just copied from the other twinhans) as I can get channels with the twinhandtv software. Maybe it just won't work with GB-PVR?

Here's my entry into bda.ini thus far:

Code:
[Twinhan Magicbox Pro]
TUNING_TYPE=DVB-T
FILTER_TUNER=DTV-DVB USB Hybrid Digital
FILTER_CAPTURE=DTV-DVB M9207 Digital Capture
PIN_TUNER_IN=Input0
PIN_TUNER_OUT=MPEG2 Transport
PIN_CAPTURE_IN=MPEG2 Transport
PIN_CAPTURE_OUT=Output1

And the results of the log:

Code:

Does this last bit mean that it won't work with GB-PVR? Gutted if not cos GB-PVR seems by far the best PVR/mediaportal option - even compared to ones that cost like SageTV and BeyondTV

I'm not 100% sure if the failure is due to a bug in ScanChannelsBDA, or a driver issue. Some people have reported that devices with a combined tuner/capture driver don't work, but the Nova-t-USB2 is similar and works fine.

As for GB-PVR, see here:

You may need to run the ReRegisterFilters.bat file.

I tried the following settings and again the card was recognised, but no channels were found in the scan.

Entry 2:

Code:
[Twinhan Magicbox Pro]
TUNING_TYPE=DVB-T
RECEIVER_ONLY_MODE=1
FILTER_RECEIVER=DTV-DVB USB Hybrid Digital
PIN_RECEIVER_IN=Antenna In Pin
PIN_RECEIVER_OUT=MPEG2 Transport

Entry 3:

Code:
[Twinhan Magicbox Pro]
TUNING_TYPE=DVB-T
RECEIVER_ONLY_MODE=1
FILTER_RECEIVER=DTV-DVB M9207 Digital Capture
PIN_RECEIVER_IN=Antenna In Pin
PIN_RECEIVER_OUT=MPEG2 Transport

I also did a graphedit filter diagram and when I added the filters I got

Code:
Input 0 - DTV-DVB M9207 Digital Capture - Output 1

Input 0 - DTV-DVB USB Hybrid Digital  (There was no output displayed for this one.)

I still don't quite understand what all this means. Maybe it sheds a bit more light on the subject.

EDIT: I also tried adding the following entries, to no avail. On these ones where the Reciever only mode is turned on, it is saying that there's strength-23 and quality=7, but still not finding any channels. I tried running re-register filters before opening config each time.

Entry 4:

Code:
[Twinhan Magicbox Pro]
TUNING_TYPE=DVB-T
RECEIVER_ONLY_MODE=1
FILTER_RECEIVER=DTV-DVB USB Hybrid Digital
PIN_RECEIVER_IN=Input0
PIN_RECEIVER_OUT=Output1

Entry 5:

Code:
[Twinhan Magicbox Pro]
TUNING_TYPE=DVB-T
RECEIVER_ONLY_MODE=1
FILTER_RECEIVER=DTV-DVB USB Hybrid Digital
PIN_RECEIVER_IN=Input0
PIN_RECEIVER_OUT=MPEG2 Transport

Are you using Windows XP? If so, which Service Pack and DirectX version?
