Hi dottore,
I've installed it as well, and have to say that the cd-functionality is great - all worked fine for me (although my CD-ROM is the first CD drive listed, so I of course don't have Heyt's problems with that).
One thing though, is that the cddb lookup appears to be pretty hit and miss for me - I stuck in three or four of my most "mainstream" CDs, and only one got a listing back from the CDDB (eg Pearl Jam's "Ten" recognised, but not Lauryn Hills "Miseducation" etc). What database are you using? I usually use freedb.org, which recognised all four CDs - probably far too much work, but maybe making the db choice a user option (eg choose from au.freedb.org, us.freedb.org etc as well as your current default?)
Otherwise it all works great - now if I could just sort out how to get 5.1 sound from my DVD-ROM through my crappy sound-card, I could dump my DVD/CD player entirely!
cheers,
tieke
