dottore - first, thanks for the application, nice to have an integrtated CD player in with this great PVR.

To help debug the cddb issue I seem to also have, can you advise where the log files are stored and where any login info would need to be entered?

you have problems with the latest version? ok, run gbpvr, do everything which leads to errors (Smile), go into the gbpvr-directory (c:\program files\devnz\gbpvr\) and search for the gbpvr.exe.log-file.

you can attach this file as zip to the forum. and i need to know the amount of cd-drives you have in your system and which of them you want to use...

thanks for testing!

dottore if it helps i use code from http://www.thecodeproject.com for the freedb searches, it works 100% of the time. my music just uses the audio cd with the shortest title and no user prompts. it/i assume that the shortest name will just be the album name and everything else will be extra crap eg "Metallica (New Zealand Bonus Edition)" (who wants that crap in the title???)

I'm sure it's user-error, but the CD player works fine, just no cddb data displayed. Attached is the log file in zip form.

Hi Dottore,

Have had chance to play with the latest version of the plugin, and it works great:-)

tried four CDs, and it found tracklistings for two of them, plus cleared the list when using the drives own eject button to spit the CD out. so bugs are now gone :->

One question, when im playing the CDs, i dont get the 'Now playing' panel that appeared below the track listings in the previous versions. is this a bug or a feature change? If its a feature, maybe making the highlight/selection move down the track listing as the CD plays would be a good idea so its easy to see whereabout along the CD you are? if i use the 'skip' on my remote, the cd skips to the next track but the highlighted track on the tracklisting stays put.

keep up the good work mate, its appreciated by us non-programmers...

yes, sorry, this is an error...will be fixed.

i deactivated the now playing panel, it doesn't work like i want it, i'll have to recode it.
reven, i use thecodeproject-code for freedb-lookup, but i don't handle multiple results. this is a thing, i wanted to implement later....maybe today ;-)

thank you all for the replies and thanks austintx for the logfiles, i'll have a look at it.

another release (http://www.sitecomposer.de/cdplayer.zip ):

- added support for multiple cddb-hits. the hit with the shortest title will be chosen
- added more logging for austintx. the lookup works, so i don't know, why there are no results.

please run it and post your logfiles if you encounter any problems.

in the next release i will re-add the current-track-screen with a timebar. then i will add a database to the whole thing. and then it should be ready for an official release, what do you think?

thanks for testing!
