1.Option to wake up from hibernation mode for scheduled recordings.

2. Ability to switch video capture recording source through gbpvr.

3. The ability to record without using timeshift feature.

4. The capability to open other programs through gbpvr.

I beleive #3, and #4 are already possible, if I am guessing what you want correctly.

GBPVR records without watching, and you can add custom tasks to the menus that are associated to batch files that can do what ever you want.

Thanks for the quick response.

The main significance of the hibernation feature is for the computer to rest,

cool off, and to mitigate the loud power supply & cooling sytem issue I have.

About #4

I regret not clarifying the "recording without timeshifting" feature comment. I

meant that the ability to record and watch tv at the same time just like the

wintv 32/2000 app. This would make this program even better than it already

is. This program far transcends the capabilities of other pvr apps. It the

only one that I know which will allow me to view my recordings, listen to

music, and do other tasks without the dependency of an peripheral mouse.

And for a free program its extremely friggin' great! Wink

Not qute sure what you mean with the wake up question. Mine sleeps between recordings just fine and wakes up correctly. I am using S3 (suspend to ram) instead of S4 (hibernate) but they both work pretty much the same. Here is a link to a program that is very helpful in testing and setting up suspend modes:

http://www.passmark.com/products/sleeper.htm

It helped me get everything working pretty well. The only issue I could imagine with gbpvr and waking from hibernat is the amount of time it takes to wake up versis the time when gbpvr tries to start a recording. I don't know what would happen if the computer was not fully up before the recording start time was reached.

As far as recording while watching the only issue I can see there is how many tuner cards do you have? Watching uses one tuner and recording uses one so you can't watch one program and record another without two tuners. You can watch what is being recorded or record what you are watching. This would apply to the wintv software as well.

SOrry to hear about the Plextor. Can't say I ever even saw one. I can highly recommend the hauppauge wintv pvr500mce dual tuner units. I have tow and I love them. just got a third and a new case and waiting for a raid card. Comes Wednesday and I have a lot of hardware swapping to do. Fun Rolleyes
