I do not wish to save all episodes to a dvd, etc
just want it to record all the unique shows so I can watch them. but if I delete a show after I watch it, will it re record it again if it comes on again?

Is there a way to not have it do this?

maybe have a db that "knows" what was recorded regardless of the physical mpeg being on the system

this is a wish list item. Currently blocking duplicate recordings is not supported. If you live in the US/Canada zapto it listing maintains a flag if it is a repeat or not.

Sub has mentioned that he might add this flag to the database down the road but it is not a priority item.

Once the flag is in the database, we can try to support removing repeats from the pending list.

ok.. seems to me you could just key off the show title and description and store that info..

I guess myth tv does it like that. I miss that option.

but gb-pvr is so much easier to install

To use the description would only work in some places. Here (in Sweden) the description often contains the information "also sent on date X time Y", while the actual rerun might say "this is a rerun of the show sent on date X time Y". I guess you could have it try to match part of the description... anyone for fuzzy logic? :-D
