The link that the wiki for Dvdauthor goes to says that it will bring me to "precompiled win32 binaries", but when I download the newest version "dvdauthor-0.6.11.tar.gz", all that is in the file is a bunch of files with extensions that are not executables. There are many '.c' and '.h' files which I think mean they are C source code, but I have no idea how to use the files I downloaded with Myvideos. I assume I must need to compile it somehow, but instructions are not given on the so-called "dvd burning dummies guide", so I'm left wondering what to do in order to get things running.
(I guess I'm a bigger dummie than the guide anticipated. lol)

I just tried going to http://www.videohelp.com and doing a search for dvdauthor, but all it comes up with is the same page linked to on the wiki http://dvdauthor.sourceforge.net/ which only gives me a .gz file with no executables. It would be great if someone could link a zip with the files precompiled, cuz I cant seem to find them anywhere.

oh, sorry bout that, I didnt notice that reven had said to download dvdauthorGUI instead of dvdauthor. I just installed it and set myvideos to look for dvdauthor.exe in the D:\Program Files\DVDAuthorGUI\bin folder. But now when I run GBPVR I notice that there is no button for Myvideos on the main menu....
Sorry if these are a bunch of dumb questions that should be self explanitory, but maybe I'm just not thinking right today... lol

what skin are you using?

post your dvdburn.bat file (just in a"["code"]" block, the forum code tag thingy) and your convert.bat file. also post your gbpvr.exe.log file

and state where your dvdauthor.exe file is, errr if you are using nerocmd or if you are using dvddecrypter and mkisofs to burn the dvds.

I'm using the default blue skin.
dvdburn.bat:
Code:
"D:\Program Files\DVDAuthorGUI\bin\mkisofs" -dvd-video -V %2 -o "t:\temp\temp.iso" %1

"d:\Program Files\DVD Decrypter\DVDDecrypter.exe" /MODE ISOWRITE /SRC "t:\temp\temp.iso" /START /CLOSE /VERIFY NO /ERASE /DEST E:\
del "t:\temp\temp.iso"

convert.bat:
Code:
C:\utils\cmdshell\cPVAS.exe "t:\temp\demux.ajb"
D:\Program Files\DVDAuthorGUI\bin\mplex -f 8 -o %1 %2 %3
del "t:\temp\demux.ajb"
del %2
del %3

My dvdauthor file is located at: D:\Program Files\DVDAuthorGUI\bin\dvdauthor.exe

I have dvddecrypter, mkisofs, and nerocmd, but I haven't used any of them yet to make dvds with gbpvr, and I'm not sure which is better , or how to select which one to use.

if you have nero 6 use that (you may have to upgrade to nero 6.6 but thats free to do) it will save you about 10 mins when burning a dvd.

the problem is you dont hve the mydatabase.mdb file in the "C:\program files\devnz\gbpvr" dir

I don't have it in the C:\program files\devnz\gbpvr folder, but that is because my install of gbpvr is in the D:\program files\devnz\gbpvr folder instead, and the mydatabase.mdb file is located there.
