I know this has been talked about before and I never did find a solution to my problem. Now with the inclusion of FFMpeg, I thought I'd try that for my transcoding. I've been playing with the settings for it in the config.xml and havent been able to find a solution.
With the default settings, I am trying to play a video that has a screen size of 640x272, a letterbox or somewhat of a 16:9 aspect ratio. With the defaults, the image height is being stretched on the screen. When I remove the -s 352x240 setting, the video plays fine but now I have the black border on the bottom of the screen. This is also how it plays when I do not use ffmpeg. I've tried to get ffdshow to work but for some reason it isnt executing on my machine. I've loaded the .grf file and viewed what is being used and it doesnt show up.
My question it, Has anyone found a FFMpeg setting that will play videos and resize the screen automatically while maintaining the aspect ratio of the video without having the black border on the screen?
Thanks!
