I woke up this morning to find my guide empty with an error message. I tried to update via the right-click on the gbpvr icon and it gave me the following error:
"Application has generated an exception that could not be handled.
Process id=0x1060 (4192), Thread id=0xed8 (3800)"
When I attempted to update via the config app it told me my EPG source isn't set up correctly.
I went to www.labs.zap2it.com and tried to log in. It appears that the site is down. Is anyone else having similar problems?
Sub, would it be possible in the future not to completely empty the guide until it downloads the new info? I like the feature to empty it to get new descriptions, updates, etc, but the current method makes us rely on zap2it being up 100% of the time.

I've been struggling with this for two days as well. Mot only does the epg fail to update but i get the error message that my capture source is not correct. It's the same source i've always used. Yesterday i was able to manually update it. Today i can't even do that. I was able to get onto the zap2it site and verify that my account is still active till the end of this month. I get these errors in the log, What's different is it does empty the epg. In former versions if it failed i at least had a week or so to get it right before recordings started failing. Now since there is no channel info left everything fails.

Of course whatever it's trying to tell me might as well be in martian! Can anyone translate. I'm not really sure where to look to fix this. I'd rather not have to blow out everything and redo but if that's what it takes so be it. This would happen when i'm busy at work and haven't a lot of time to work on it. Standard bad timing i'm guessing Smile

I ran epg update with zap2it last night on a new setup around 9 & it took around an hr to complete.
But I thought that was because of the slowness of the PC.

I have the same issue at the moment.

It would be a good idea to make the dump of the existing data take place after the download. If you need to stream it directly to the DB while d/l'ing, maybe have it load in a temp table, and then copy it it over when done.

As a temp measure, would it work if I took a backup, and loaded the programe table from there into the active one? I wasn't sure if it was getting new unique IDs that wouldn't allow that to work w/o happening via the EPG update process.

I've noticed that getting the epg used to take almost a minute, it's now up to almost an hour. Perhaps zap2it is getting overloaded with who knows how many calling in to update and taking all that time for each update? I did just get it to finally update manually. No changes but it finally went thru. it's why I'm speculating that perhaps it's an overload issue. I wonder if during that hour of updating if anything scheduled will record since the epg is essentially empty for that time period?

Same here. Also tried to log into the website and my account wouldn't work. Tried opening a new account and it fails with "An unknown error has occurred. "

Ok. Apparently it's downloading the epg info now because I don't get the error message when manually updating and my pending recordings have shows scheduled out several days. However, my TV Guide is still empty. I tried clicking 'empty epg' in the config app re-updating then restarting GB-PVR, but no luck. Do I need to manually delete/change some file?

Repeated attempts at updating EPG automatically and manually have failed and continue to fail for me also.

I got through, and it was blank immediately after. Close, reopen, and all was well. But it was sloooooooow. It could just be a server down on their end. For the amount of traffic they have, I'm surprised it doesn't happen more often. Personally, I'm filing it under "taken for granted" up to this glitch.

But, I'm also turning off "empty epg" for now, too.
