I use a MediaMVP and find it quite slow and unresponsive. For instance, I press the skip forward button, nothing happens, I press the fast forward button, it jumps, then fast forwords, or sometimes does nothing again. Press the skip forward again, it tends to skip twice.... ahhhh.

Running hardwired connection from GBPVR (v9413) box to MVP.
When the movie first starts all the remote functions pause/FF/skip work fine, after about an hour they don't work at all.

You could try changing the settings for ff/rw in the configaplication under "misc" - use shortskip instead of FF/RW.
AMD Athlon 64 3000, HDD: 80, 120, 200 GB, Hauppauge 350 + 150, MVP, Asus 6000L Laptop client, Asus X50sl client,
Fritz!box 7140 modem/router, GBPVR 1.3.7.

Changed the settings in config to ff/skip - same symptoms.
The MVP is still ignoring the transport commands.

Have you definately disabled/stopped both MVP services? They've been known to do funny things with ff/rw.

Both Hauppauge services have been set to "manual" in the services menu.

Hey Tipster- You suggested:

"Default buffer is 8k, you should change that to 64kb which is the max."

Where do you set this?

Tipstir..

Thanks for posting this MVP tweaks stuff

Before I begin to install them -- how do I get a backup copy of the settings so I can unwind the changes if my system barfs?

Thanks for patience with us newbies.
