I seem to be having an issue with video playback when it comes to the OSD bar and commercial skip. When I pause the video to bring up the OSD, the status bar doesn't have the correct information. When I bring it up on the PC, the bar is correct.

On PC:
- Show duration and bar show 1 hour.
- Arrow under bar is in correct place relative to what has been watched.
- comskip markings are in correct place.

On MVP:
- Show duration shows 7.5 hours. ???
- Arrow is always in same place, 3/4 of the way or so down the bar. It constantly says I have wacthed 6.5 hours.
- Comskip markings are squashed at beginning of bar. Probably correct relative to the 7 hours duration it thinks the show is.
- Since it thinks duration if 7 hours and progress indicator is stuck at 3/4 through video, commercial advance never occurs.

Ant tips on what I forgot to configure?

Thanks,
Greg

BTW, is there a way to bring up the OSD on the MVP at any time?

It sounds like there is something funny with the Presentation Time Stamps (PTS) in whatever file you're trying to play. When you're viewing via an MVP, it uses these for determining the duration and current position.

What type of file are you trying to play, and where did it come from?

Playing on the PC determines the duration a different way.

The files I am trying to view are recordings from GBPVR. What part of the software is putting these in? I am still using the software recorder plugin to drive my Maui card.

The timestamps are just some of the bytes embedded within the MPEG2 stream produced by the card. They're not manipulated by GB-PVR in any way.

I'm not sure what happens with the software recorder plugin.

I don't suppose you see this problem on your Maui card recordings? Big Grin Are you using the drivers included with windows or drivers that came from the vendor? I am using the driver that are included in XP.
