Can anyone tell me roughly how long it takes comskip to run on a 30 minute show after it's done, roughly? And does this effect it running during another show.....say back to back recordings?

takes about 7-10minutes, you can let it run while it is recording and then its using far less cpu, and finishes within about 1 minute after the recording is done.

nah no conflict, yeah it will just run multiple instances (im pretty sure, i dont notice really, which means theres no conflict )

It just runs on as many recordings as you have, and will end whenever it ends.
Run it simultaneously, it's much faster to finish that way. You can also run comclean or videoredo, and have the commercials automatically edited if you choose.

It's supposed to make a new file and delete the original. On mine though, it left the original, and gbpvr still played the orgiginal. I went into the folder and played the edited one with media player though and it appears to have come out right. any help anyone? And by the way...anyone have any info on how accurate comskip is?

It's not going to delete the original, unless you want it to, by editing the comclean.bat file.
Comskip can be 100% accurate, if you take the time to tune it. I have 4 profiles set up, for different channels, and I can get 100% on about 10 of the 15 or so I normally record from, and about 98% on the other 5 (one commercial in 30 or so get's missed).

I'm not really worried about commercial's getting skipped, I'm worried about false positives.......it skipping parts of the actual show. I record a lot of football games and I really don't want to miss the field goal with 10 seconds left because the software thought it was still a commercial.

I doubt that will happen.
Record a game, then tune comskip with it. It takes a while to scan the original mpg, but once you've done it one time, you can use the .csv file to get results immediately, showing the changes (if any) in detection. Most likely, you'll still get a few commercials at first, but RARELY does comskip ever cut chunks from a show, unless you've really got the settings mucked up

If you do playback with GBPVR it is advised not to run comclean.
This because GBPVR will pick up the output from Comskip and use it in its player to skip the commercials. Only if you use other playback means or do want to convert and archive the recordings it makes sense to cut out the commercials. The reliability depends on many parameters such as the broadcast style used and the quality of the tuning. Some people use a very aggressive removal style, others don't mind the occasional commercial. Almost all behaviour of Comskip is tunable So basically its up to you and the broadcast style you experience. If you see oportinities to improve Comskip I like to hear them.
