OK, I finally was able to reproduce the bug. I thought it was due to the latest version, but I was able to manually reproduce in 0.93.10

Here's what happens. If you switch channels back and forth when watching live TV (on the MVP in my case, haven't tried to reproduce on the PC, but I can if Sub needs to)

When you watch the 3rd or 4th channel you end up on, you let it play, and after a while, the MVP shows a black screen, for a couple of seconds, until your video returns. At this stage, if you press the blue button, you see in the progress bar at the top that your current recording is now 30 seconds long. The 30 seconds play fine, then the MVP playback stops again, and we start over for another 30 seconds

I have attached the logs. The problem happened while trying to watch "Whose line is it anyway" around 8:48 PM and again 9:04PM on Oct 10

I believe the culprit is around this section of gbpvrrecordingservice.log
Code:
10/10/05 9:04:43 PM.515    VERBOSE    [618]    RenewLease 6
10/10/05 9:04:43 PM.515    VERBOSE    [618]    RecordingFactory.LoadNext24HourEvents()
10/10/05 9:04:43 PM.515    VERBOSE    [618]    forcing refresh of next 24 hour events for capture source:6
10/10/05 9:04:43 PM.515    VERBOSE    [618]    getValue cached value: /settings/LiveTVDirectory : C:\
10/10/05 9:04:43 PM.546    VERBOSE    [618]    currentFile: C:\Whose Line Is It Anyway_6_20051010_21002130-2.mpg
10/10/05 9:04:43 PM.546    VERBOSE    [618]    About to switch live tv file to: C:\Whose Line Is It Anyway_6_20051010_21002130-3.mpg
10/10/05 9:04:43 PM.546    VERBOSE    [618]    DirectRecordingSource about to start recording  oid:6 channel:53
10/10/05 9:04:43 PM.546    VERBOSE    [618]    Stopping recording oid:6
10/10/05 9:04:44 PM.203    VERBOSE    [618]    recording started
10/10/05 9:04:44 PM.203    VERBOSE    [618]    Finished switch

By the way, I have the exact same behavior in the latest version, which was what prompted me to fallback to 0.93.10 originally.

Can you provide a gbpvr.exe.log that shows this problem? The one in the zaip file does not show this.

OK here goes.
Reproduced again toniht between 6:54 and 6:59.
I surfed channels a bit before ending back up on Seinfeld on channel 7
I let it run this time, and saw it switch in those 30 seconds increments for 5 or 6 times.

I stopped the MVP, then went down to the PC and shutdown GBPVR to make sure I'd have all the files, and here are the logs

I also noticed I have the following files in my C drive:
Code:
C:\>dir *.mpg
Volume in drive C is CAMEMBERT_C
Volume Serial Number is 4095-2D61

Directory of C:\

Happened again, without the MVP, straight on the PC (in timeshift mode, I'm going to try again in Live Preview)

I was zapping back and forth and then left it run on "Everybody loves Raymond"

Doesn't happen in LivePreview, even if I manually swicth to timeshift everytime I return to "Everybody loves Raymond"
Unfortunately, since we're using the MVP 99% of the time, we're being hit by the ebil bug.
By the way, it gets reset if you stop live TV, then go to the guide and select your channel from there... Channel hopping seems to be the root cause

I think I see what is happening. I'm thinking about the best way to fix this now.

Hey Sub. The bug seems to be fixed (you said in the 0.95 release thread you couldn't remember if it was)
