Sub, I assume this is related to the new buffering system but do you know why my live TV freezes towards the end of a prgram? (sticks on a frame and holds it there - no audio)? I can ESCAPE out and go back to live tv and things are fine but the same thing happens again towards the end of the program. I'm running a Hauppauge WinTV PVR-350. I'm NOT recording the shows while watching when they freeze. Thanks!

Can any other PVR350 decoder users confirm they are also having this problem?

chasef, does changing channels work normally for you?

Yes, changing channels has always worked fine, to my knowledge.  There is, of course, the delay between the channels changing but I understood that to be normal. Also, note that I'm currently set to use VMR9 inside config.exe.

I've watched about a dozen "end of programme file switches" on my PVR350 tonight in an effort to reproduce your problem. Unfortunately, its reliably switched everytime so I'm no closer to a solution for you.

To help me diagnose the problem try downloading http://www.devnz.com/downloads/pvr350.zip

It contains a replacement GBPVRPush.ax which includes additional debug information and a registry file to enable the debug logging. Double click the registry file to add the settings to your machine. You'll want to backup GBPVRPush.ax before hand so you can restore it later.

One you have this installed, reproduce the problem, then email me the file c:\push.log

i experience look up where the show just stopped, and if i changed channel it fixed this, i went to normal display (using 350s tv out) and discovered that comskip had an error and a popup message said something (i was restarting at the time and cant remember exactly what it said), but since comskip now apparently runs thru a file as its being recorded this may be causing some problems, im going to delete it and see. i do experience a say 2 sec pause when ending one show and begining another show, but sub said this was normal (well i think he did); is there anyway to record the same frames from the tv in to two seperate files (sub im sure you probably thought about this, or dismissed this as a fix, just want to check) say record two minutes after a show ends in one file and start recording two mins before a show starts in another file, so they overlap, or is this impossible with a single tuner (since its the same stream i thought it might be possible)

Hi Guys,

I had the same freezing problems. To fix the total freezing problem I used the larger blank.mpg file from this post. As for the mini-freezes between shows maybe an even larger blank.mpg file will fix the problem.

Can some else with the PVR350 and this problem please investigate reven's suggestion that comskip may be causing the problem?

Sub, it might help to know that, since I replaced the black.mpg file with the one you have in the "problems + solutions" post, the audio now continues on normally but the video sticks on what looks like the last couple frames and just flutters between them. The show always pauses about 1 sec. before the video freezes completely. I didn't try changing channels to see if that fixed it but still... Going back to the menu and then back into live tv starts everything over fine. I'll still try the diagnostic thing if you wish.

You'll need to do the diagnostic steps I described earlier.
