I've been unable to get Closed Captions ( subtitles ) to appear when watching live tv or in recordings.
I've turned on all the teletext, SRT etc options in the Config application.

When watching live TV I click on the button ( can't offhand remeber which) to turn on subtitles, and the Subtitles enabled message appears, but no subtitles.

Setup :
95.14 version of gbpvr,
Dual Fusion HDTV cards ( the lite and the plus).

I've tried different BDA multiplexors, but am using the Cyberlink ones at the moment.

What do I need to do ??

In particular I want to record shows, and get the closed captions.

There is a few different ways they can transmit subtitles. I'm not sure whether Australia uses teletext for subtitles, or MHEG-5, or possibly DVB Subtitles. GB-PVR supports only supports subtitles via teletext.

I'll do some investigation, unless anyone else knows !

Found this at :
http://www.dba.org.au/index.asp?sectionI...captioning

The Australia digital terrestrial television (DTT) receiver standard is non-mandatory but currently says that all receivers should have closed captioning decoding capability, including the ability to -

(a) decode and display teletext page 801 closed captioning,
(b) decode and display DVB bitmapped Subtitles - (a different system used in some other countries but not by Australian broadcasters), and
© pass teletext closed caption data out on the SD video output in the VBI (Vertical Blanking Interval) so that a standard PAL receiver fitted with teletext decoding can display it.

As captions are currently provided in the teletext style with all Australian broadcasters’ prime time programs, this is the more important digital set top box (STB) capability to those viewers who wish to see closed captions.

Turn on teletext in the config app. Start GB-PVR and view live tv, then press the 'red' button (Ctrl-R) to ring up teletext. Does this work? If not please zip and attach your gbpvr.exe.log and gbpvr.exe-native.log files.

Tried Ctrl+r
This displayed the teletext page ( when using Prime, its the only channel that transmits full teletext, the others only transmit 801 page ).
Teletext displayed OK.
Entered 801
The screen went black, except for the 801 in the topright corner and the time in the topleft. Audio was still playing.
( I also tried other pages, which displayed fine)

Tried a few variations.
ie Ctrl+r, 801 then esc or
ie Ctrl+r, 801 then stop

By the way, I lied, I'm running version 94.13

OK. I've upgraded to 95.16.

Still can't get the subtitles to work.
Ctrl+R gives me teletext, 801 displays the subtitles BUT on an entirely black screen.

When playing back a recording Display Subtitles is enabled.
I'm using the Cyberlink decoders, as I don't have intervideo on my htpc.
