Ctrl+R gives me teletext, 801 displays the subtitles BUT on an entirely black screen
Yes, thats correct. This feature is intended for viewing teletext, not specifically subtitles, but....

With both the 'Enable Teletext' and 'Capture Subtitles to SRT file' option enabled, you'll notice you get the option to enter a page number in the capture source settings for that channel, so that GB-PVR can automatically grab the subtitles and display them. This uses a transparent background.

OK
Changed the settings. Still don't get a srt file being created.
I've included the logs.
Noticed in GBPVRRecordingService.exe-native-1.log the line
> FindFilterByName failed to locate filter: GB-PVR WST SRT Digital

Can't see anything obviuos.
Thanks

Try running the following and see if it helps with this error.

Code:
regsvr32 "c:\program files\devnz\gbpvr\WSTSRTDigital.ax"

The Saga Continues!

Subtitles now display in live TV, with two problems
1. When I press Yellow ( ctrl Y ) to turn subtitles OFF, the last displayed subtitle remains displayed. To get rid of it I have to display the OSD (ctrl B).

2. Even with "Show Closed Captions" option turned OFF subtitles display automatically when I goto Live TV. I have to turn them off manually then do hack ( see above).

BUT
The SRT file is not being created, so can't see subtitles in a recorded program

Is there a difference between "subtitles" and "Closed Captions"?

Thanks

I'll add these to my list of things to check for the next release.

This seems to be because the Recording Service is failing to the locate the WST filter. I'm not sure why you can see it under your user account (running gbpvr.exe), but the recording service cant.

It depends who you ask.

Closed Captions is very much a USA term, and usually refers to the quite different system they use. In my part of the world they say 'subtitles are available on page 801', so thats the terminology I use when referring to teletext subtitles.

I tried running the recording service under the Administrator account, and I created a new user and ran it under that too.
Can't remember my passsword for the account I use on the htpc !! otherwise would have used that.

Either way the recording service can't create the "GB-PVR WST SRT Digital" filter, but has no trouble with the other filters.

Does the filter need to registered in some other way other than just a straight regsvr32, or perhaps using some of the regsvr32 command line options.

Is there something different about this filter compared to the other GBPVR... filters ?

I dont know why it wont be registering for all accounts for you. There isnt anything special about it.

Maybe try unregistering first using "regsvr32 /u ...."
