I just wanted to make a "good feeling" post. I work in software development and know how some days it always feels like you only hear about the bugs or problems with the software.
I come to GB-PVR after carefully planning and installing a MythTV setup. It probably took about 8 hours to get that setup to the point where I could get TV output working and then who knows how much more time to figure out the rest of it. In the end, I finally got most things working, but the thing crashed and was generally unreliable. I was then going to try out the freevo project when I stumbled across GB-PVR.
A quick install of Windows, install GB-PVR, go through some quick options setup, and everything runs great. I'm really impressed with how easy it was to get up and going. The interface is slick, the remote worked right away, I got my tv schedule updated in minutes instead of hours.. really great work!
Now I'm on to figure out how to develop plugins, which is one of the reasons I went with a BYO PVR over just buying a Tivo in the first place.
Cheers and keep up the good work,
Andrew
