::::::::::INTENTED PRIMARY USE OF GBPVR::::::::::
Record/Watch TV
View Photos
Listen To Music
Play all my emulators (nes,snes,gbx,ps,gens,n64)
Rip CD/DVD

::::::::::CURRENT SETUP::::::::::
DirectTivo Series2 (currently recording 2 shows at once)
Standard TV (composite + RCA inputs)
Philips DVP642 DVD Player (plays any region DVD and has internal PAL to NTSC converter)

::::::::::QUESTIONS::::::::::
What is the additional hardware/software needed to integrate the DirectTivo? And what exactly is integrated? (scheduling?)

What would be the best (non HDTV) capture/output card to get?

What Hard Disk configuration is recommended given my "Primary Use" above (raid, non raid, two raids)?

youd hire sub? whats sub?

Also, Id be willing to ditch my DirecTivo and Verizon internet and switch to Comcast cable/internet...........(this would give HDTV and on demand). If you have a choice, would you go with DirecTivo or Comcast?

I have no idea how to integrate with Tivo...

But I'd stick to a non-RAID solution, regular HDD speed for HTPC is plenty.

Get a 6600GT or better to take advantage of nVidia's purevideo features and you'll be ready if you every decide to dive into the HDTV realm or play more advanced games (fast GPU and TV/HDTV out support).

The Hauppauge PVR150MCE w/out FM tuner, $49 at PCAlchemy.com is a great deal to get non-HD tuning.

EDIT: just saw your recent post... getting HDTV over comcast uses QAM, ... do a search in this forum for why you can't use GBPVR to tune in QAM signals.
MY PVR:
OS: Windows 7 Home Premium
Hardware: Silverstone LC13-E, Athlon II 250, Asrock 785GMH, 2GB Corsair RAM, 250GB WD HDD, 1TB WD Black, Hauppauge PVR-150 MCE tuner (s-video to Dish STB), HDHomeRun (ATSC x2), MCE2004 for Rx, USB-UIRT for Tx, Sony VL600 Remote, 36" Sony Wega HD CRT on DVI to embedded ATI HD4200.
TV Service: Dish Network and Antenna Pics 'n Details

Ok, figured out "who" sub is. Maybe I should hire him.

I guess my major hurdle is recording two streams from directivo at the same time and being able to watch another.

I noticed the possibliliy of using two PVR150 MCE's along with Girder.........who has succussfull experience with this? And, what remote do you suggest? Firefly?
