Remove Commericals Before Converting

Hi,

I love the fact that the recorded shows can automatically covert for iPod especially since I got one for Christmas! I was wondering if there was a way to automatically remove the comercials, before converting mp4?
Thanks a bunch sub, the new upgrades are great!

You can use either comskip or show analyzer to mark the commercials. I find show analyzer to be a bit more accurate, but if you don't opt for the $10 version, it will analyze after the recording instead of during and can take 10 min or so. Then you can use comclean to remove the commercials. I think you can find some programs that let you cut manually but I've only done the commercial skipping so far. All these programs can be found on the wiki, except for maybe show analyzer...do a search on the forums for that.

Thanks for the info, but my question isn't about comskip or comclean, it is about the new converting feature. I want to know how to remove the comercials, before it converts my video files to mp4 format for the iPod.

Currently there's no method to cut out commercials before transcoding using the builtin converter feature.

I think it would be possible, but is there a batch, or a dll that control the conversion process? I could help integrate the comclean option for conversion if I could get a better idea of when it does what.
