Some of these other skins look fine, but after using tipstir skins I really like them. G-Guide skin to me is very easy to use look good and I know the guy is trying his best to make look right. G-Xmedia SE was fun do use for christmas and now I see X Media DX has been brought back, but I really like G-Guide skin theme. Hopefully more support for some plugins like Video Archive will be support. DX look okay and does support nearly everything offered in plugins.

So my vote goes to tipstir and all his efforts and support here on GB forums!

Can't use that on my mvp like I can with tipstir G-Guide. I need something fast and easy to use with the kids. Not really into a lot of fancy graphics.

im using the Project Mayhem 3 skin....

before that i was using the Media Experience skin

before that i was using.... err i think the blue skin (back in the day when there were only about 5 skins).

I'm a big fan of Tipstir's skins as well.....he definately cares a lot about his work and it shows in the details. I use his G Guide and X media skins!
Viva la skins or something like that...we have a lot of talented skinners here, that's for sure..

lewis6681 is right and I agree that tipstir skin are more detailed and work. I see too many users here pushing one skin or another. I know the g guide a work in progress as with most skin here on gb and yes its a matter of taste. I wish I could get my team to all vote for tipstir's skin, but I am the only one here using tipstir's skin with gb. You have to hand it to the guy he is doing all the work himself I see that HC and MCE2 everyone else is joining in to push those two skins. Why not some of you help tipstir out?

I've privately warned one of you in the past about the use of multiple accounts to hold conversations with yourself, and to covertly put down other users work. I see you are still doing this. If you persist, you'll be publically 'outed'. It wont be tolerated. :mad:

Funny - I don't see anyone "pushing one skin or another"; rather, I see members of the community expressing a personal preference. When you say "everyone else is joining in to push those two skins", could it be because (in the case of MCE2 at least) a majority of the people who have responded to the poll *use* that skin?

This is not to decry Tipstir's work - far from it, as I see the guy post advice and help to people almost every single day, over and above his skins - but the point is that the skin/ plugin/ app/ oss/ whatever with the most use and / or interest will get the most development. Is this not a good thing?

While I'm on a rant here , you know what irritates me? Skins posted on the wiki that are still under development, skins that don't support plugins, plugins that are unfinished - just a pet peeve, but the place for them is this forum, not the wiki where they just introduce confusion to new users.

But of course, that's the beauty of it - that's just my opinion, it means nothing, and everyone else can disagree; that's the point of community. IMHO, the only person here who has a priviledge to 'push a skin' or whatever is Sub, and I think his approach - all plugins must support the blue skin, community development is encouraged - is admirable. If you want to see what happens when the poor guy tried to develop this approach further, you might want to subject yourself to the misery of the "new default skin" thread; that was hard work.

Tipstir, to his credit, is the only guy I see supporting just about every plugin. I don't use his skins myself, but kudos to him for his approach; Big Tom, I presume you agree with me on this, as the majority of your posts have all been praising his work.

But to suggest that *anyone* is pushing A over B is, IMHO, incorrect in an open community like this.
