I was trying to fine tune my channels as I have no sound on ch5, 14, and others. I used different methods and no luck. finally i wanted to just leave it alone for now, but there is a new problem. When I go to watch liveTV in gbpvr, it is stuck on one channel. I soon realized that this is the last channel that was tuned in wintv2000. If i change channel in wintv, exit, and then open gbpvr, that new channel will be displayed. I cannot figure out how to get gbpvr to tune the channels. i've tried reconfiguring a whole bunch of things with no luck.

any suggestions?

This is a common problem for US owners of NTSC PVR150's (rev C199), and hauppauge have released newer drivers to try and address this.

Zip and attach your logs and I'll take a look.

I installed the latest beta drivers for the pvr150, no luck. I tried manually entering in all the channel frequencies in wintv, which gave me sound on the channels i was missing, did the freqcopy, but when i opened gbpvr there was still no sound. i tried a couple other things and after that i stopped being able to tune channels in gbpvr.

i attached the log files.

thanks.

Yeah, I'm aware that the newer drivers havent solved the PVR150 sound issue for everyone. Its made it worse for some. Hopefully they'll nail it with the next set of drivers.

I was specifically wanting the log to look at your channel changing issue, but I couldnt even see an attempt to channel channels. Did you actually try this in this set of logs?

so you want me to open up gbpvr, change some channels, and then send the log files? i'm new to this so bare with me.

side note, i tried reinstalling pvr150 drivers, now all i get is static on every channel.

?????

it was working fine (sans the fact that i was missing sound on some channels) til i started playing with it.

anyways, i finally got it back to "working" status. still no sound on those channels. now i tried manually adjusting channel frequencies in the registry, and the channel just comes up static after i touch it....argh.

Its not something in my control. I'm already doing all the right stuff, and I do the same thing for every card - its just that this subset of PVR150's are always fulfilling their end of the bargain. I effectively just tell Windows to switch to channel "25" (for example) and it passes the request off to the Hauppauge drivers. I dont do anything relating to audio specifically. All that work is hidden from me in the drivers.

Purely speculation, but I think the model of tuner they used in some of these NTSC PVR150s is not always locking onto the audio carrier, and in recent driver updates they've been "tweaking" the tuner registers to try an improve the situation.

well i am able to "tune" the channels in wintv, and i get sound (maybe a little fuzzier image too). I manually tuned the stations in the registry, and have gotten some to work in gbpvr, but not others. I don't understand why if i put in the exact frequency that is working in wintv, i still get no sound in gbpvr? this is very frustrating to think that i should have bought a different capture card if this one has so many problems. it's "basically" useless if i can't get these few channels (ones that i do watch) to operate properly.

hey sub, thanks for all your help so far, great software. if i can just get these few minor things worked out i'll be very happy with my setup.
