Yes it is... I use it stand-alone. It expects a channel number as the second parameter, but you can obviously just pass it anything. I don't recall if it cares whether you actually specify one or not - it might not.

I have a slight work around for you...I'll smooth it out in the next couple of weeks. But if you can't wait.

DL the attached script. Look in the script and change the following:

Currentdirectory
extensions you want to mark - dvr-ms in your case
and the maximum age of the file - you probably want to put "-1" in this field

It will output a file called oldfiles.txt. Please inspect it for your sanity.

Here's the kluge. Download the mtranscode.vbs script found in the forums at

Modify the config.ini file as follows:

Change the encoder to "c:\program files\devnz\gbpvr\comskip.ini" or where your comskip file is found.

leave the following field empty (maybe a space) - it's the parameters to pass to comskip for you.

move oldifles.txt to where you installed mtranscode.vbs and change it to transcode_queue.txt.

Then run mtranscode.vbs.

I recommend you edit the transcode_queue.txt/oldifles.txt to only have one entry and see how it goes. The log files will give you errors, but comskip should work in the end. At that point, dirmon should pick it up and do it's job.

If DELMODE=0 then you will not lose your file. I've done many tests and made mistakes but never lost a file.

I followed the instructions and I have comskip sitting on my desktop but how does GBPVR know where it is? DirMon won't run until after comskip runs so the whole process won't start for me.

Comskip should be put in the gbpvr folder. You can either call it from PostProcessing.bat or by enabling it in the Processing tab of the config app.

It doesn't care whether or not the channel argeument is specified. Sometime I'll just drop a Mpeg on it to manually set it off. You can also use it as your postprocessing.bat file.

I added comskip to the gbpvr program file and set it to run after recording. It didn't run, and the conversion process didn't work, (even when I went straight into "Start Prcessing" in DirMon).

If you're setting this run from the Procesing tab, it's in the wrong place. If you're calling comskip from the PostProcessing.bat you'll need to use the full path.
