I need some extra functionality out of the manual recording option:

1) a way to enter the channel number directly. Scrolling from 200 to 700 is very painfull.

2) if it is possible, allow a channel that is not in the guide to be recorded. XML TV does not have listings for PPV, so I can never record them

That would make the manual recording feature extremely useful for me.

A to Q2) You can add a PPV channel by going into the config/Capture Sources/ and edit the XMLTV Plugin. Where it lists your channels, you have an "Add" button that will allow you to create a "channel name" and "channel number" (you must already know the channel number).
