You get a slight delay anyhow if you have a mostly full harddrive its going to of course slow it down a lil even if is defragged. A 300gb harddrive takes about 2 seconds longer to analyze then a 60gb harddrive for when you want to defrag.
That could be your problem, its just a few seconds so.
More recordings just means more delay.. other programs slow down too with alot of pictures and recordings...

Whereever a line like the following shows up in the gbpvr.exe.log file the subsequent entry is delayed by 3-4 seconds. This line shows up twice upon entry to the Recordings UI (if I'm reading the log properly). I switched my config file so the value would be false, but this had no effect on the delay. Without knowing the internals, it's hard to say what this means, if anything.

Also, I would say that the system disk (the disk with the gbpvr.mdb) does not seem to be thrashing during any of the days in the Recordings UI that I'm experiencing.

It wont be related to the AutoRemoveMissingRecordings thing, but possibly some other logic that occurs just after it. I'm looking into it now.

My TV guide is slow until ive seen everything then i can zoom thru it at 100mph.. it just takes a lil time. I doubt this is any major deal unless you have like 3000recordings.

Are you referring to the disk that contains the recordings or the disk that contains the database (gbpvr.mdb)? The former is a 300GB drive, the latter is a 60GB drive (half full and not significantly fragmented). The 300GB drive is quite fragmented, but I have the block size set to 64K.

In any case, I'm getting about an 7-8 second delay on going into the Recordings UI, about a 4 second delay when I go into a series folder, and about a 3 second delay when I pop back out of that folder (using esc).

It's not related to resume paused recordings being set by any chance is it?

just a thought...

Nope. I don't use the mode, though I'd like to.

I have 43 recordings. Recordins are located on a brand new hard-disk of
250 gigs.

The software and database file are located on a partition of 36 gigs where I have 10 gigs of free space. I defragmented this partition this last weekend and the problem is still present.

Bye!

... very interesting, because I recently increased EPG from 7 days to 14 days.

I've put some improvements in for the next release.
