Yesterday, for no apparent reason that I can think of ("no, I didn't change anything" Wink ) my computer started acting funny.
Everything went sloooow, like +30 seconds for anything to happen after I press a key. GBPVR process ran at 90-95% CPU when just sitting on the menu doing nothing.

I don't have the logs with me, but in gbpvr.exe.log, there were thousands of lines with something like
"Direct Access Received 144123141" (the number in there is made up by me right now, but it was the same number in every line). Of course my computer got really bogged down by all this.

I switched to not using direct access, but I don't really like to using ir32, since I have a clash with my Philips TV remote wich messes with gbpvr when I use ir32, so if I can avoid it I'd like to.

Anyone seen this behavior or have an idea what might be causing it?

are you sure no one was sat on the remote?:p

My laptop had a IRDA port for connecting printers wirelessly and stuff, it 'seeks' for other IRDA ports about every thirty seconds, and my mce ir receiver blinks as if its receiving the signal, although nothing on-screen happens. stops the gbpvr box from hibernating though. Maybe something like thats happening? Probably not but its usually something silly like that when these sorts of things happen isnt it....

Fairly sure no one sat on the remote =) Could my usb-uirt be the villain? But then again, it would have flashed insanely with it's little LED lamp if it was transmitting stuff, wouldn't it? Maybe I should try again with direct access now that I have restarted the computer...

I've now also spotted this problem, lots of "Direct Access got: 89661439 (255)"
and GBPVR hangs when trying to look at LiveTV.

Did you find out anything more?

I've removed this debug message from the next release. I'm not sure what has changed though that cause this message to start appearing.

Thank's, sub. It will mean a lot to me as long as I can't get rid of the clash between hauppauge remote and my philips tv remote codes =)

Using the usb-uirt as a receiver works =) However, when I do, and navigate the menu, sometimes the menu disappears for a half to two seconds. Is this normal when using the usb-uirt as a receiver? I've never noticed this when using direct access or ir.exe...

Sorry, I never did respond to this... it was all my fault; i never did shut down ir32.exe... it behaved weirdly when both of them handled events =) Now it works better.
