I know this sounds crazy but everything and every channel I have recorded shows on have worked great except for nickoldeon. I live in Michigan and have comcast TV service.
It doesn't matter if I instant record or schedule it, all I get is static. the picture is great but all I get is static.

If I watch it throught gbpvr I get no sound but if I watch or record it through WinTV2000 everything is fine.
Any ideas? this one has me stumped because this is the only channel that I have a problem with. And wouldn't you know that is the channel that has a couple of shows my kids like
I am using the latest gbpvr and have a pvr 150 card.

Thanks,
Dennis

There are quite a few threads on this. Have a look at these and see if any of them resolves your problem. Read the entire first one first:

stefan,

Thanks for the links, they helped quite a bit. I do have a dumb question though. Where is the tuning assistant utility? Someone in the forums you linked spoke of it being in the Capture Sources tab but I don't see it there?
Also, some people talked about using freqcopy. I am not sure which I should be using. I also looked at the wiki docs but doesn't really give a step by step guide to tuning just one channel.
Thanks for you help and sorry for my ignorance. maybe i am just missing something.
I am using 95.16

The tuningAssistant comes with gbpvr, and should be accessible to you either in the gbpvr install directory, or in the gbpvr part of your start menu.

When using the TuningAssistant, you will find out which frequency the channel in question has. Write it down. Then enter the config app, and go to the capture source tab.

There you should already have nickelodeon. It has a channel number. This channel number you should now overwrite with the frequency you got from the tuning assistant.

Once you have done that you "OK" your way out of the config app, fire up gbpvr again and see if it's any better. If not, then it could be either that the frequency is not accurate enough. Try raising or lowering it in steps of perhaps 500 and see if things improve.

If you can't get it to work, you might have one of the faulty pvr-150 drivers. You will then have to try to find others. One place to check is ftp://ftp.shspvr.com which has a load of drivers, new and old.
